I'll start it off by saying that Steve Stone is awesome and should replace DJ next year.
Possible replacements for the Hawk? How about...

Don't we already get crowd noise in place of Hawk for a half-inning every third or fourth innning when he's taking a trip to the crapper, concession stand, and/or man-size crib? Just bump that up to every full inning, and then work from there.
I might vote for Jim Hickey, former pitching coach for the Astros, now with Tampa Bay. Doesn't look like the pitching is improving any in Tampa, so perhaps Hickey is ready for a new gig. I have no idea how talented he is for calling a game, but he is exceptionally well-spoken, which would be a little better than crowd noise and a lot better than Hawk. |
